🔹 What are affixes?

Affixes are groups of letters added to:

– the beginning of a word → prefix

– the end of a word → suffix

** They change:

– meaning

– grammatical form

– or part of speech

📌 هل تعلم أن القواعد في اللغة الإنجليزية لا تقتصر فقط على

Nouns – Verbs – Adjectives؟

🔹 Grammatical Structures (الهياكل النحوية)

القواعد اللغوية English Grammar موجودة في:

✔️ Parts of Speech

✔️ Phrases

✔️ Clauses

✔️ Sentences

✍️ Examples:

🔸 a very interesting book → Noun Phrase

🔸 because she likes English → Clause

🔸 She is studying English. → Sentence

📌 إذن، فهم القواعد لا يكون على مستوى الكلمة فقط، بل على مستوى التركيب الكامل.

🔹 Word Building (بناء الكلمات)

من الطرق الأساسية التي تُكوِّن بها الإنجليزية كلمات جديدة هي استخدام Affixes

وهي حروف تُضاف للكلمة الأساسية لتغيير:

✔️ المعنى

✔️ الوظيفة

✔️ نوع الكلمة

🔹 What are affixes?

ومنها نوعين: 

🔹 Prefixes (السوابق)

تُضاف في بداية الكلمة وتغيّر معناها:

🔹 un- → unhappy

🔹 dis- → disappear

🔹 re- → rewrite

🔹 im- / in- / il- → impossible / incorrect / illegal

🔹 over- → overwork

🔹 pre- → preview

🔹 Suffixes (اللاحقات)

تُضاف في نهاية الكلمة وقد:

✔️ تعطي معلومة نحوية

✔️ تغيّر نوع الكلمة

✔️ تكوّن كلمة جديدة

✍️ Examples:

🔸 talked → past tense

🔸 books → plural noun

🔸 helpful → adjective

🔸 education → noun

🔸 quickly → adverb

Grammar is not just rules…
